TAMIR is an actress, poet and playwright, author and performer of five one-woman shows, in addition to In the Land of Israel and I Belong Elsewhere. Her CD and solo performance of devotional readings, Poetry on Prayer, is an interfaith celebration of the human spirit. The Way of the Heart combines ecstatic poetry and Sufi teaching stories of Rumi with music, dance and whirling. Her new one-woman play, Now, is about suicide awareness and healing through Shakespeare and faith. Among the roles she has played are Maria Callas, Medea, Bernarda Alba and Leah (in the Dybbuk). Her new play, The Embrace, for four women, is about dying consciously and the struggle of a daughter to let her mother go. It highlights NDE – near-death experiences and the huge role they can play in helping each other shift from fixed ideas to embrace a meta-reality.

TAMIR is a certified Iyengar Junior Intermediate teacher who taught at Columbia University NYC for twenty-two years.
